July 15 - First Day at Fushun Social Welfare Institute - Arrival

We started off our morning having a little prayer, bible study and worship in our hotel room. The Director of the orphanage met with Natalie about 8:25 to discuss all of the arrangements for the day. The first meeting went exceptionally well. They were very excited for us to be here and welcomed all of the plans that we had for the week. In general we would spend a couple of hours in the morning and then a couple of hours in the afternoon at the orphanage. We drove about 1/2 hour to the orphanage from the hotel. It is outside of the city down an old country road. The orphanage and the old folks home are located right next to eachother. The building is a really nice building that is kept very clean and bright for the kids. We had to wear sandals inside the orphanage as we entered. As we drove into the compound the older kids were lined up waiting for us. The all seemed excited to see us.

The kids decorate the blackboard in the classroom to welcome us.
